An email from one of our undressed bloggers…….
Hi Larry–
Here is a quick summary of my fun week.
On Saturday, I met with a couple from Chicago who are relocating to Gig Harbor. They found my blog on their internet searches of the area, and didn’t bother to interview or meet with any other agents. They appreciated the content on the site and are therefore working with me. Tomorrow I meet with a family from Sacramento who will be relocating up here this summer. Same story. We connected on an online forum, I directed them to my blog, and just like that I’m their agent of choice.
I also was interviewed today by our local newspaper, The Peninsula Gateway, for a feature article on the blog. That article will be in Wednesday’s paper. I’ll send it on to you when it comes out.
Pretty fun for only about 6 weeks of blogging!

It is about writing great content and being part of a network and brand. The longer you write the more you knock out the competition. Our Issaquah Undressed.com blog and Issaquah Highlands Undressed.com are the Kings of our area in Google and Yahoo, probably MSN we don’t check on it. These are not only the top real estate blogs in the community, they are the top real estate sites, with the best local content - written with real estate accumen. With our support, training, and coaching, you can be dominant in your market too. They are the ultimate long term solution: local real estate blogs written by a local real estate agent.

OK, I know it is black and white and there is nothing wrong with your monitor. The picture would have looked better in color but I had my camera in black and white mode, but that isn’t the point of this post. I discovered a web site a couple of weeks ago when I was trying to help my daughter.
I had been editing the photos that she is sending from Europe, so she can share them with family and friends through Flickr. The little girl really gets how to take a picture they are gorgeous and many of them don’t need any tweaking. She has no photo editing software or any way of getting a program or loading one on her computer and making it work.
I found a way for her to edit her photos online using: www.picnik.com. I like the site so much I started using it myself. It is free and the photo editing software is very easy to use. Pictures can be cropped, resized, lightened, darkened, and more. The site has the basic capabilities found in expensive photo editing software. I took a picture and edited it in photo shop elements and then took the same photo and used picnik to edit it, the end result was identical.
Picnik has a nice interface with Flickr . Pictures can be taken directly from Flickr, edited and put back in place or saved as a new photo.

Hope she doesn’t mind that I borrowed one of her photos of Sète, near Montpellier France. It did not need editing.
The black and white photo was edited with picnik, which was also used to add the frame and the signature. When I see the photos in this post I am reminded of what my daughter gets to look at and take pictures of and what I get to look at and take pictures of. Oh well at least one of us is having fun.

Photos are an important part of our blogs.

Probably most of you that drop in could answer this question. For you we add our twist. Kathleen started this article in response to a question by one of the owners of our real estate office.
What is a blog? A blog is a word derived from web log. It is like a website but the content is continuous and can be added upon easily and often, as often as the blog writer wishes. The most recent article (post) is at the top and each additional post pushes the other further down. All posts can be put into categories (which you can title). The categories can be clicked on to retrieve all posts written in the category.
A blog is very 2.0, meaning it isn’t just you writing to others but it allows others to make comments and you can even ask guest writers to post if you choose.
Links are a common component. You can link to whatever website you choose; schools, traffic cams, chamber of commerce, etc.
All articles you write are always there. The content of a blog can quickly become huge. There are many ways to send people into your blog, which is part of our training. Needless to say, the more often you write, the better.
Our blogs have a local focus. We host sites written by local agents that know their communities as well as real estate. We have a most effective way to show a community. It is a public service. Our agents provide an MLS search and access to mortgage lenders we have had experience with.
Blogs can have a very powerful search engine result. Search engines are notified when new content arrives, done right you will move to the front of the line in Google. That too is part of our strategy.
